We want your knowledge and expertise!Job Summary and QualificationsPOSITION SUMMARY:To provide professional nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process. To collaborate with other members of the health care delivery team including physicians, to deliver quality health care.What qualifications you will need:EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:REQUIRED
  • Minimum College: Associate Degree or BSN.LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:REQUIRED
    • Current RN licensure in Texas or compact state.
    • Current BCLS certification.
    • ACLS/PALS certification current or obtained within one year of employment or transfer into unit.EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED:PREFERRED
      • Previous experience in endoscopy or a critical care area.SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:PREFERRED
        • Reads and writes Basic English with the basic skills necessary to transfer physician's orders.
        • Knowledge of body substance isolation.
        • Ability to listen, empathize and respond to patient, family, internal and external partners needs.
        • Bilingual in English/Spanish.COMPETENCIES:
          • Administers sedation/analgesia safely and according to hospital policy
          • Identifies need for sedation reversal agent and administers promptly and correctly.
          • Knowledge and proficiency in the recovery of conscious sedation patients.
          • Responds appropriately to respiratory distress.
          • Knowledge of gastrointestinal and pulmonary anatomy and physiology.
          • Responds appropriately to control hemorrhage.
          • Knowledge of sterile technique.
          • Correctly obtains, labels, and processes biopsies in a timely manner.
          • Technical knowledge of endoscopy procedures.
          • Ability to document in PCM in a concise and thorough manner.
          • Ability to manage time to reflect efficiency and productivity.
